Olaf has 20 years of experience in the commercial kitchen ventilation systems arena, coupled with specific expertise in the field of demand ventilation for kitchen hoods, and testing, adjusting and balancing for the HVAC industry. He has been heavily involved in both design and sales, offering customers top-notch solutions. Establishing Air Solutions & Balancing, LLC in 2001, Olaf has created a reputation of high quality, integrity and service with a smile.
In 1991, Olaf graduated from Bradley University with a B.S. degree in manufacturing engineering. After working for a large commercial kitchen hood manufacturer and gaining testing, adjusting and balancing experience, he earned his air balancing certification through the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) in 1996. Olaf co-founded Air Solutions Engineering, Inc. located in Cincinnati, Ohio to build a successful kitchen hood rep firm and balancing company. In 2001, Olaf moved to New Hampshire to start Air Solutions & Balancing, LLC, with emphasis on the air balancing industry, coupled with kitchen hood sales and demand ventilation. Over the years, Olaf has earned his Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential as well as being NEBB certified in HVAC systems commissioning.
Olaf is an active member in the AEE New England and Granite State ASHRAE chapters. Outside of work, Olaf spends time with his young boys and enjoys activities such as triathlons, bike riding and trying to be a better golfer.
Douglas Kumph, P.E., LEED AP
Director of Operations
Doug Kumph is a Licensed Professional Engineer with proven expertise working in high growth organizations. Doug brings over 20 years of consulting experience in mechanical engineering, management, and organizational development to Air Solutions. Doug has a unique combination of technical expertise, communication skills and hands-on ability. He has extensive experience working as a consultant to the construction and building industry.
Doug received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire in 1989. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine, and a LEED® Accredited Professional. In 2009, Doug graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership, receiving the Outstanding Student Award in his graduating class. When not at work, Doug spends time with his family doing and enjoys a wide range of outdoor sports and activities.

Rick Habib
Project Manager/Estimator
Rick Habib brings eight years of experience working in high volume, high growth, fast paced environments while working at Tradewinds Mechanical managing up to thirty team members serving Greater New England. Rick’s experience includes large scale project management of HVAC overhauls for National Retail Accounts, as well as handling the logistics and problem-solving around running an operations division responsible for over $6 million in yearly revenue. Rick’s focus has always centered around delivering the highest quality customer service while building a stable team committed to delivering these values.
Rick received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications in 1991 from the University of New Hampshire. In his spare time, he can be found outdoors kayaking with his wife Ellen. Rick can also be seen as a freelance musician playing percussion and singing anywhere from Portland, Maine to Boston, Massachusetts. He also works with troubled adolescents as a volunteer at the Dover Children’s Home.
Rae Lena Simonoko
Estimator
Rae Lena Simonoko brings 2 years experience in the construction field to Air Solutions & Balancing. Her experience includes working for The Bell Company as a Document Control Manager. Her positive attitude, strong organizational skills and hard work ethic brings a substantial amount of depth to the Air Solutions & Balancing team.
Rae earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Keene State College in 2007. While not at work, Rae enjoys spending time with family, friends and her two dogs, Emma and Ally. She also loves to work out, stay active and anything that involves being outdoors!
Jason Roy
Field Technician – TAB Team Lead
Joining our team in 2008, Jason brought 15 years of experience in the mechanical world to our team. He has earned a reputation for problem solving, precision and developing solutions that work in real environments. His impeccable attention to detail, customer service skills and team leadership enhances his knowledge of HVAC systems, as well as testing, adjusting and balancing.
Jason earned his Bachelor of Arts from Lasell College and his Associates in Applied Science HVAC/R from NHCTC. He is a NEBB Certified Testing, Adjusting and Balancing Technician. When not at work, Jason enjoys hunting and fishing, and can often be found spending time with his extensive family.
Dan Thompson
Master Electrician – Melink Team Lead
Joining our team in 2010, Dan Thompson brings 14 years experience in the field managing up to 15 team members and managing projects up to a million dollars while working as a foreman for Stellos Electric. His expertise in managing projects and coordinating with various trades to ensure that projects are run efficiently, on time, on budget and in a professional manner has helped to enhance our customer experiences. Dan, along with Dave Johnson, has brought a new level to our Melink services and now allows the AS&B team to offer in-house, turnkey service.
Dan is a Master Electrician in the State of New Hampshire and a Journeyman in the State of Massachusetts. He also is a listed Fire Alarm Agent in several of the area towns and is OSHA 10 certified. When not at work, Dan can be found spending time with his wife, Jacqueline and chasing around his two sons. Dan also enjoys hitting the fairways for a round of golf - he is a very competative golfer.
Bill Panas
Technician – TAB Team
Bill Panas joined our team in 2008 directly out of HVAC school. Since then, he has developed precision, effective communication, tremendous problem-solving and outstanding customer service skills while perfecting his balancing technique.
Bill has his Associates in Applied Science HVAC/R from NHCTC, is a NEBB certified Testing, Adjusting and Balancing Technician and is OSHA 10 and lift certified. Bill enjoys traveling and spending time with his family and girlfriend.
Dave Johnson
Journeyman – Melink Tech
A retired veteran from the U.S. Army, Dave Johnson brings 8 years electrical experience working for Stellos Electric to our Melink team. He has proven to be an outstanding problem-solver while working with effective communicaiton on Melink projects and easily brings jobs in on time showing meticulous work. His impeccable attention to detail and his diverse talents have made Dave an asset to both Melink and balancing jobs our team can tackle.
Dave is a licensed Journeyman in New Hampshire and has his OSHA 10 certification. When not at work, Dave can be found out on the soccer field, either playing or coaching his son’s team.
John Dickinson
Technician – TAB Team
John joined our team in 2010 bringing more than 3 years HVAC experience from Sam Mechanical to our team. His adaptive approach to problem solving and his ability to take on diverse projects has made him a valuable team member in both TAB and Melink Projects.
John has his Associates in Applied Science HVAC/R from NHCTC, and his OSHA 30, EPA 608 Universal, NH Gasfitters licensed and is lift certified. When not at work, John enjoys snowmobiling, riding his Harley, boating, hiking and camping.
Nick Panas

Nick is the newest member to our team and brings his positive attitude to our team. He is currently working towards his Associates in Applied Science HVAC/R from NHCTC and plans to graduate in the Spring of 2011.
